Class Experience
We will explore the beauty of watercolor and create this translucent fall painting. Students will learn to blend colors and create a reflection. Proper brush care will be discussed as well as how to use the brushes to create texture with them. We will discuss what colors to begin a watercolor with, and why shading and hi-lighting are such an important part of a painting. We will have some basic colors to use and mixing our own colors will be encouraged. A little color theory is always...
Students will learn blending, hi-lighting and shading techniques along with some color theory. They will learn how to use their brush, and be encouraged to mix colors.
I have been painting, and teaching art for over twenty years and am continually inspired by my students' skill and creativity.
No homework
Supply List 8 inch by 10 inch watercolor paper, bowl or water, paper towels, number 12 round brush that comes to a point, palette paper (or a watercolor tray or foam plate), Watercolor paint tubes, not the trays. A set is easy to find a craft stores. We will use white, yellow, orange, alizarin crimson(red), purple, blue, green, brown and black.
I will write a brief note to the student after class.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
