Class Experience
We will explore an interesting range of colors while painting our little chickadee. Students will learn to use watercolors to achieve definition and blending. Proper brush care will be discussed as well as how to use the brushes to create texture with them. We will discuss what colors to begin a watercolor with, and how to make a focal point pop. We will have some basic colors to use and mixing colors will be encouraged. A little color theory is always thrown into the lesson. My teaching...
Students will learn blending, hi-lighting and shading techniques along with some color theory. They will learn how to use their brush, and be encouraged to mix colors.
I have been painting, and teaching art for over twenty years and am continually inspired by my students creativity.
Supply List 8 inch by 10 inch watercolor paper, bowl or water, paper towels, number 12 round brush that comes to a point, palette paper (or a watercolor tray or foam plate), Watercolor paint tubes, not the trays. A set is easy to find a craft stores. We will use white, yellow, orange, alizarin crimson(red), purple, blue, green, brown and black.
I will write a brief note to the student after class.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
