Class Experience

During this 55-minute beginner class, learners will watercolor paint a glowing Aurora Borealis sky. They will choose a vibrant palette and learn how to blend colors to create a gradient sky. Each learner will paint mountains with reflective highlights and a silhouette of tree landscape. They will use a circular shape to capture the image and add dimension to their painting. At the end of class, learners will be encouraged to share their work with the class.

Step-by-step instruction will be taught to:
How to blend colors using watercolor paint
Use layers to build a scene
Add stars to create starry night
Add highlights to the mountain for a more realism
Paint a silhouette tree using a few easy brush strokes
Add dark paint for contrast

Painting can help kids:
Think outside the box
Use their imagination
Express their emotions and feelings
Develop mobility skills
Acquire hand-eye coordination

A bonus of Aurora Borealis also known as Northern Lights facts will be discussed while learners create their masterpiece.
