This class will use the wash technique used in watercolor paintings. The wash technique is a process whereby watercolor paint is applied wet on wet to create a gradient effect. I will demonstrate and have students follow alongside me. The class will include a brief lecture but it will be mostly a hands on experience. My teaching style is relaxed and encourages students to be active learners. Students will be encouraged to ask questions. At the end of class students who wish to share their work will have an opportunity to do so. Evaluations will be provided upon request. Prior experience is not required but a basic understanding of the use of watercolor paint is helpful.
Learning Goals
Students will enjoy learning how to complete a night sky and use their imaginations to create a painting of a far away galaxy.

Supply List
1. One of the following: 8.5 X 11 white construction paper or a regular white sheet of paper. Students may also use art paper designed for watercolors. 2. Watercolors with a paint brush 3. Cup of water and a paper towel 4. White Acrylic Paint
