This is a fun and engaging art class designed for the novice watercolor artist who loves Halloween and wants to learn how to use watercolors to paint different Halloween characters and objects using many different watercolor techniques. Artists will learn how to draw and paint different types of Halloween characters each class. The teacher will walk learners through a step by step guide on how to paint each character/object of the day. The class will be engaging and the teacher will ask fun discussion questions to encourage peer interaction while painting. The four-day itinerary includes the following activities: Day 1: Introduction on how to sketch a jack o lantern followed by a step by step guide on how to paint a realistic-style jack o lantern. Day 2: Introduction on how to sketch a Halloween cat followed by a step by step guide on how to paint a cartoon-style Halloween cat. Day 3: Introduction on how to sketch a pumpkin field landscape followed by a step by step guide on how to paint a pumpkin field landscape.
Learning Goals
- Learners will learn to paint in a fun and welcoming environment and follow my step-by-step demonstration to create three different Halloween inspired paintings.
- Specifically, learners will learn to blend colors, paint various pieces of each character/object, and use various brush strokes.

- Watercolor paper (I use medium grain, cold press, 90 lb paper, brand: Daler-Rowney Simply Artists Watercolor Paper Pad) - Watercolor paints (I use the 48 color palette by Mungyo) - Watercolor brush (I use Galiano size 14 and 20) - Paper towel - Container with water to wash brush - Black Sharpie (I use a fine and thick Sharpie) - Painters tape (or Scotch tape) - Hard surface to work on

As an experienced online teacher with a Bachelors Degree in Education with a double minor in curriculum and instruction and learning and developmental disabilities, I am passionate about helping students succeed using my innate personal attributes as a caring, outgoing, fun, supportive person, together with my diverse and significant academic, school classroom, and employment experiences.
I am passionate about teaching a range of subjects and classes. I believe that learning should be informative and enjoyable. Learning comes in many shapes and forms so I use visual props and images for my visual learners, speech and writing for my auditory learners, and I encourage educational movement for my kinesthetic learners.
