Class Experience

Want to learn a new art skill, but don't know where to begin?

In this one time class, learners will develop an understanding of how to use watercolor to create light and dark tones as well as a sense of light, depth and three dimensional space to bring their very own Pikachu to life.
Learners will follow step by step 'show' and 'tell' instructions to create their artwork alongside being taught how watercolor works and tips and techniques on how to use this often unpredictable medium.
Watercolor is a relaxing art form that will allow us to discuss art and Pokémon themed topics in a relaxed atmosphere.

This is primarily a watercolor class so a Pikachu template will be provided for learners to trace or copy should they require it.

Although this is a Pikachu based class, other Pokémon classes can be offered upon request.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been in education for 19 years and am currently the Assistant Head of Special Educational Needs in a secondary school (students aged 11-16) in the UK. I believe in an inclusive education for all students, no matter their ability or disability.
I teach English, Film and Media, and creativity is at the heart of all the classes I teach.
I was an art technician for three years in which I honed my artistic skills that I will use to offer art based classes.
I also ran my own small baking and cake decorating business for seven years; I even had celebrity clients! So, I hope to offer these classes to students in the near future.
In my spare time I love walking my pug and I am an avid reader of fantasy fiction. I also enjoy running; I have completed several half marathons and my goal is to complete a full marathon some day. I am a big kid at heart so look out for my Pokémon based classes!

I will leave you with one final thought: 'Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.' - Nelson Mandela.
