30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Join me in creating your own little flower garden painting! In this no experience needed class I will walk you step by step through creating your own watercolor painting. This class is perfect for any new (or advanced!) artist wanting very clear and easy-to-follow instructions. During this class, you will learn how to create different flower doodle drawings with a pen, and then color in our drawing with watercolor paint. We will discuss and learn about our brushes and materials, as well as the painting techniques used to create this artwork. At the end of the half-hour session, you will have your own completed watercolor painting! As the instructor, I will be painting right along with you so you can see exactly what to do. I have been teaching painting classes for the last 8 years, so you can be confident that you are in good hands. My goal is for all of my students to have fun creating their personalized art while gaining confidence that you really can paint! I hope to see you soon! *Just a note that depending on the number of students enrolled, and the student's familiarity with painting the length of class may vary. All classes are designed to stay within the half-hour time frame but may finish a couple of minutes early depending on the speed of the group.
Learning Goals
My mission for all of my classes is that every learner has the opportunity to be creative. I believe creativity is so important, and I want to give students the chance to express themselves in a safe and comfortable environment. The goal is for each student in this particular class to complete an entire watercolor painting, and learn about techniques and the brushes we use during class.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Please make sure students have a space to work that is ok to get a bit messy. I recommend wearing old clothes that you won't mind if they get a little paint on them. Watercolor is normally easy to wash off of surfaces and get out of clothes, but we will be using a permanent pen for this project.
Supply List
Learners will need a couple of supplies for painting. If you already have some supplies feel free to use what you have! You WILL need watercolor paints, a brush, and a permanent pen to complete this artwork. Watercolor paper, Illustration Board, or Card Stock to paint on. (You can also use normal paper, but normally a thicker paper will work better with watercolor paint.) Watercolor Paint - choose your own colors! Round brush Paper Plate (or something to use as a paint pallet) Cup of Water Paper Towels Permanent Pen Pencil Eraser If you would like or need to purchase new supplies, all supplies could be purchased from Amazon. Most supplies can also be purchased at your local grocery or art store. Please let me know if you have any questions about supplies!
