Welcome to the wonderful world of watercolor & mixed media! In this small group class, we will create a beautiful artwork each week! Join anytime and stay as long as you like! My goal is to help your young artist become more confident using a variety of art mediums. I also enjoy helping artists find their own unique style. I allow plenty of room for learners to make their own creative decisions, this is what builds their confidence as artists. I help learners 'think like an artist' as...

I have been an art educator for over 25 years. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Art Education (K-12) from the University of Central Oklahoma. I have taught in public schools, private schools, as well as homeschool co-op groups and private lessons. I am an Outschool ACE Educator and have been teaching on the Outschool platform since August of 2021.
REQUIRED SUPPLY LIST: (we will use all or most of these art mediums each week) *Watercolor paper, at least 90lbs (any size) *painting demonstration is on 9x12 watercolor paper *Pencil *Eraser *Watercolor paints (tray or tubes) *Paintbrushes: 1” flat brush & round fine point brush *Plastic mixing surface to mix watercolor paints (lid, plastic plate, etc.) *Crayons or oil pastels (We use a WHITE crayon/oil pastel often!) *Black fine tip PERMANENT marker (or a MICRON PEN) *A pack of WATER-BASED markers (Crayola classic 10 pack is great) *Cup of water *Salt (We will use salt approximately once a month, usually for snow or texture in the ocean) *Ruler (or straight edge) **Students are welcome to add to this supply list. I am happy to help them incorporate their favorite art mediums to their projects. Additional supplies could include: chalk pastels, artist watercolor tape, colored paper/glue, colored pencils, gouache paint, etc..... **If you student doesn't have all of the supplies, I'll do my best to work with what they have available. **Cardstock and regular paper will not work for this class due to the amount of water we use. **I often get asked what is my favorite brand of watercolor paints for learners; It is PRANG Semi-Moist, tray of 8 or 16.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
