2 hrs 15 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class, learners will begin to explore the joyous art of watercolor. They will be introduced to a variety of different techniques that can be easily incorporated into any piece! Learners will be presented with an interactive experience in that they get to join in on the fun! There is no experience required for students to join this camp! We will be covering six painting techniques as well as the importance of brush care. Each session will be divided into 3 sections - During the first part of the session, we will go through a slideshow together filled with information we'll be using in our lesson. In the second part of each session, we'll create a painting together - learners will follow along with me and create a piece that will allow your learner to practice the concepts we've covered. Lastly, we'll wrap up with some free paint - this is your learner's opportunity to explore on their own. They will be allowed to create a unique piece of their own - they will have the option to share their work, but there is absolutely no pressure!
Learning Goals
Students will learn the basics of watercolor. A plethora of techniques will be shared to encourage learners to delve deeper and explore this artistic medium further!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I'm an Old Dominion University graduate. I've always had a fiery passion for teaching and I'm exceptionally excited to begin embarking on that journey! I completed a World Languages and Cultures major with a double minor in Women's Studies and Arabic - my ambitions and passions have led me to pursue instruction in a global classroom. The importance of teaching youth to pursue knowledge endlessly is what fuels my drive as an aspiring teacher! I hope to work with NGOs focused on educational advocacy for refugees and equip those students with the tools they need to take on the world despite the trauma and pain they've experienced. Education is the orphan of every war - but it is also the foundation of every revolution. I favor classes that teach the arts and literature. Language is also a deep passion of mine - as a signer, English, and Arabic speaker - I know the importance of the ability to acquire a multitude of tongues. In essence, I would like to inspire kids to become life-long learners!
