This class will teach young learners the importance of washing their hands and the proper way to do so. Students will first learn the steps needed to wash their hands. The students will learn 1-2 fun songs about washing their hands. The students will learn about how to cough and sneeze into their elbow. They will mimic proper handwashing. Students will listen to a short book "Wash Your Hands" by Tony Ross. This book discusses when it is important to wash your hands. Students will discuss the book and list times when we should wash our hands. Students should be able to answer these questions when they are finished with the class: 1. What is a germ? 2. How can we get rid of germs? 3. When should you wash your hands? 4. What should you do when coughing/sneezing?
Learning Goals
Students will learn about germs, when to wash their hands, and how to wash their hands properly.

Supply List
Two handouts from the CDC will be provided, including one listing the steps to hand washing, and one showing where germs are found. Also, a few coloring pages will be provided for after class.
