In this month-long book club, we will analyze movies & the books that inspired them. We will use discussion questions to provoke conversation about the different elements of films, books, & how they are similar & different from each other.

Description

Class Experience

Join this month-long book club to discuss popular books that were turned into movies! We will discuss each book and its movie together each week. We will discuss various elements of the book and determine, as individuals, whether we believe the book or the movie was "better" based on a variety of criteria. Students will have the opportunity to dialogue with one another, learn more about classic and popular books, and make friends throughout this ongoing club. Prior to each meeting, students...

Students will need to read independently outside of class to complete the books prior to our in-class discussions. Students will also be responsible for viewing the movies that correlate to each book we read.

Students will need to obtain the books and movies we discuss from a store or library. I will provide an Amazon links to the materials on an ongoing basis.

1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.

Parents should be aware of the movie ratings for the films we view prior to allowing their children to watch the films. Parental guidance may be suggested depending on the film.
