In this course, I acknowledge that certain topics we discuss, such as war, weapons, anti-Semitic policies, genocide, and persecution, are politically sensitive and require careful handling. I understand the importance of presenting this information in an age-appropriate manner, considering the context of the issues and the state of the world at the respective time periods. My approach to teaching these politically sensitive topics is rooted in sensitivity, empathy, and responsible education. I strive to provide historical context and a comprehensive understanding of these events while considering the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of our learners. Throughout the course, I take great care to present the information in a manner that is suitable for the age group of learners. I ensure that the content is delivered in a respectful and thoughtful manner, emphasizing the historical significance, consequences, and lessons learned from these events. By providing appropriate context and fostering open discussions, I create a safe and inclusive learning environment where learners can engage with these sensitive topics. I encourage learners to ask questions, share their thoughts, and express their opinions while maintaining a respectful and empathetic dialogue. If you have any concerns or questions about the approach to politically sensitive topics covered in the course, please do not hesitate to reach out.
