This fun WARRIORS KARATE KIDS After School Program themed class introduces basic beginner self-defense movements and combinations. The class would begin with mediation in order to prepare your mind and body to work. We would set an intention to be maintained throughout the class. A coordination game for 5 minutes would follow. We will have a fun warm-up and stretching (10 minutes) and then we will focus on basic karate techniques for 20-25 minutes. During class, we will incorporate a bilingual approach to learning as we would count the movements in English and Japanese. In addition, we would have nutritional challenges to ensure an educational improvement in mental and physical health. At the end of the class, we would test our knowledge with memory, balance, and focus challenges depending on the day. To close out on a positive note, we would focus back on the intention set at the beginning of class while thanking ourselves for being present in that moment.

By the end of their 8th class, they will know full and real Karate techniques. Students will also be able to develop combined movements of arms and legs with their whole body, demonstrating new skills of coordination, balance, and self-defense. Classes will be 100% interactive. With that said, student cameras must be turned on throughout the whole duration of the class. Parents should supervise their children in order to ensure they are in a safe area. This class is movement-based, so be sure your child has plenty of room to stretch, jump, and workout. Parents are allowed and encouraged to supervise and assist their children during activities. It is recommended that this occur during your child’s first classes in order to help him/her feel more confident during the class.
