Step into the wild and join us for an action-packed journey through Warriors: Into the Wild by Erin Hunter! In this 9-week interactive literature study, we’ll dive into the world of ThunderClan, following Firepaw’s journey from a humble kittypet to a fierce warrior. Each week, we will read two chapters outside of class. During class, we'll discuss the chapters and participate in creative projects, strategy challenges, and role-playing exercises to strengthen comprehension and critical thinking skills. What to Expect: Engaging Discussions – Strengthen comprehension skills while exploring the warrior code, clan rivalries, and Firepaw’s biggest challenges. Creative Hands-On Activities – Design your own warrior name, map out clan territories, and craft your own warrior prophecy! Interactive Games & Challenges – Test your warrior knowledge, train like an apprentice, and make decisions as a clan leader. Strategic Role-Playing – Step into the paws of a warrior cat and debate tough choices faced by Firepaw and his clanmates. Discussion Topics:
Who is Rusty? What do we know about his life before the forest?
Predictions: What do you think will happen when Rusty enters the wild?
Activity: Clan Name Generator – Students create their own warrior names based on personality traits and favorite animals. Then they will draw a picture of themselves as a warrior animal.
Game: Warrior Code Sorting Game – Introduce the Warrior Code and have students match rules to hypothetical situations.

Becoming Firepaw (Chapters 3-4)
Discussion Topics:
Firepaw’s transition from kittypet to apprentice
Graypaw and Firepaw’s friendship – why is it important?
Activity: Warrior Territory Map – Students draw a map showing the different areas of the clan territories.
Game: Interactive Game to review Chapters 1-4.

How Firepaw is adapting to clan life
The importance of hierarchy in the clans
Activity: Role-Playing Game – Students are given different clan ranks (apprentice, warrior, leader) and must make decisions based on Warrior Code rules.
Game: Warrior Clan Quiz – Fun game where students match the clan that would best suit different traits.

Discussion Topics:

Parental Guidance
Mild Violence: As a story about wild cats in clans, there are battles, hunting, and some character deaths, though they are not overly graphic.
