Students will get practice in articulating their thoughts about favorite books and characters. Students will practice identifying key points of a story. Students will learn, identify, and practice these skills: plots, subplots, protagonist, antagonist, character arcs, conflicts, plot structure, world-building, magic systems, and setting, among others. Students will learn how to form opinions based on the text. They will also learn how to give a literary analysis. Students will practice discussing topics in a group setting. 

I genuinely love these books and would love to host a book club for them; however, I wanted to add a learning component to the class. That said, I took what I've learned from my degree and writing experience to create this class.  

We are going to look at four books by Erin Hunter: Moth Flight's Vision, Crookedstar's Promise, Bluestar's Prophecy, and Firestar's Quest. Students will probably enjoy class more if they have read these books.
