Learn about the 32 year War of the Roses that took place in England during mid to late fifteenth century. Learn about the houses of York (the White Rose) and Lancaster (the Red Rose) and how this war ended their male lines so that the Tudors could take over the English crown. Learn about Warwick, the king maker, and how he earned that title. Learn about the first battle in England that used artillery. Any important figures will be discussed before they start being involved in the war. Each week will cover around 8 years of the war: Week 1 will be the lead up to the war and the start of the war through the end of 1462. Week 2 will be 1463 through 1470 Week 3 will be 1471 through 1478 Week 4 will be 1479 through the end of the war in June 1487 as well as a recap of the major events that have been discussed. Each lesson will have an activity to complete and a discussion question posted in the classroom on Outschool. This will either be a quiz, a discussion, or a poll. There will also be a discussion question and worksheet posted on the classroom in Outschool. The slides used in the lecture will also be posted for reference.
