CLASS EXPERIENCE: MINECRAFT BEDROCK EDITION. This edition can be played on PC, Mac, Android, and iOS. We will NOT be using Minecraft Java Edition AGE RANGE: This class is designed for all ages and skill levels. Basic knowledge of English and Computers will be highly beneficial. Prior experience with Minecraft is not required. CLASS OVERVIEW: In this course we will learn about the History of War in the video game of Minecraft. War is a big part of human history, sadly. One of the main purposes of History is to learn from it. Throughout this course we will be learning about four different wars in History. We will be seeing what these wars have in common, what happened during them and why they happened. We will learn how we can prevent such wars from happening again. We will see if it is true that: "It is an unfortunate fact that we can secure peace only by preparing for war". We will take a tour of a different periods of history through the game of Minecraft. We will examine a new war and time period each lesson. We will experience World History like never before! History should not just be kept in the history books.
Learning Goals
Over this course, we will be using Minecraft in each lesson. At the start of each class, students will be introduced to a new world within Minecraft. They will be guided through this world by me. Throughout our tour, we will learn about the people who lived and fought here. We will learn about different wars. To finish it off, we will do re-enactments as a team. History will come alive in the digital world of Minecraft.
During this course, we will explore the World:
Lesson One: US Civil War
Lesson Two: World War I
Lesson Three: World War II
Lesson Four: The Vietnam War
We will travel throughout time and around the World. Who are we? What comes next? “We are not makers of history. We are made by history”. This is History in the Making

Parental Guidance
Some of the topics being discussed will involve sensitive topics, such as religion and war. This course will provide multiple viewpoints and come from a neutral standpoint. History is not always positive and this course will reflect this. The class is designed for children and is suitable for all ages.
Supply List
A Minecraft account (also known as Minecraft Bedrock Edition) must be purchased by the learner. Learners will receive access to the Minecraft server address to connect to. Minecraft Java Edition will NOT work. A pair of headphones and microphone are also needed.
