Enter the world of magical Fairy Tales in this imaginative Waldorf library class. We will light a story candle to begin our special time together. The stories that we read are illustrated picture books that we will see and read together on the screen share. After we read, we will have movement time with yoga poses that allow us to become our characters in some way. Finally, we will have a drawing time for children to process the story artistically. Please note that drawings are all student-led and we will have a sharing time for students to share their expressions if they choose to. This is a perfect class for an older Waldorf kindy or first-grade student and even a dreamy second-grade student who loves fairy tales! Parental Guidance
All stories and images used in this class are age appropriate! Books are illustrated by Bernadette Watts. The "scary" parts of the stories shared would be when the Queen in Snow White falls down dead in the end and the wolf gets cut open by the hunter in Red Riding Hood. However, these parts are read with gentle illustrations and nothing graphic visually.
Please provide a yoga mat and safe place that is open enough for your student to practice our movement together! Be sure your student has proper footwear and a water bottle close at hand.
