Students will learn movement techniques that empower them to take control of their learning, their emotions, and their attention. The movements presented each day of the week will center around focus training, attention to detail and cross-body integration, emotional regulation, patterns and mathematical thinking, lasting change through practice and success. Additionally, learning goals include improved fine motor, gross motor, ocular-motor, and oral-motor strength, coordination, and endurance for improved handwriting, reading, attention, and articulation.
Ms Annika is a physical therapist and dance educator who specializes in adapting movement patterns to individual students' needs. Through her work, she has developed an arsenal of movements, strategies, and imagery that train the brain to improve communication and effective functioning through practice and fun-filled, high-energy classes.
No regular homework except to sometimes "be the expert" and teach a family member a skill that we learned in Wake Your Brain.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
No special equipment or previous experience required. All you need is a little open space and an open mind to try learning a new way.
