Ready for another holiday? I AM! March 25th is International Waffle Day! Let's toast our waffles and decorate them in class. Learners will toast their waffles and decorate them with fruit and/or whipped cream. I will show them how to make a funny face or design a 2-D ice cream cone(using only fruit and waffle quarters). We will have fun playing and making art with our food. After learners are done creating a unique design, students will eat. What To Expect This class is interactive...
I come from a long line of cooks and bakers. My Aunt Elaine, grandmother, and father were legends. I started cooking and baking at a young age. During High School, I was fortunate to gain kitchen skills at a small local university in their cafeteria. I acquired some skills cooking and baking for 300-350 students and staff. I went on to take formal classes from CIA( Culinary Institute of America) graduates and so on. But my all time favorite class was Food Chemistry. I am big on mise en place( everything in its place), presentation, and the science of how things work. I spent some time traveling and learning about various cultures. I enjoy interactive teaching and encouraging students to cook and bake. My classroom goals for this class are to learn, eat, and celebrate! his class helps build hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. I hope your can enroll your learner. If these times do not fit your schedule, contact me. I will TRY to accommodate you.

Waffles contain known allergens. Fortunately some stores carry frozen waffles that are gluten-free, or perhaps you have your family recipe. Please read the ingredients thoroughly and check with your health care provider. Parents will wash, pat dry, and cut fruit and/or waffle that will be used for the project BEFORE class. We will use a butter knife for cutting bananas in class(optional). Toasters or toaster ovens will used in this class. Adult supervision is required when using these appliances and tools. A healthy respect for safety and sanitation is important for students and their families. Individual guardians and parents are responsible for each student's health and safety. CAGO( clean as you go), safety measures, and sanitation practice are encouraged for this age group.
