Hi! Thank you for checking out my class! I am so excited that you are here! I am a certified occupational therapy assistant and work with children daily on their fine motor and handwriting skills to increase their academic success. In this class your child will learn all of the basic writing mechanics such as where to start at the margin, staying on the lines, proper letter formation, sizing, spacing, etc! All of this will be broken down based on your learners current handwriting level and don't worry I will make it fun and exciting by creating stories and using social games. I love to use mad libs with the kids and the stories always turn out wild and crazy! I currently work with children daily on their handwriting skills and have plenty of tricks up my sleeves! You will be provided with highlighted paper to use for this class which will increase your child's boundary awareness as well as a variety hand strengthening exercises you can do at home to increase handwriting endurance. This class will provide great insight for your learner in a fun way to increase their success at home and in the classroom by teaching them new handwriting skills that will be remembered long term. Week of April 4th- Week 1: A Trip to the Beach Week of April 11th- Week 2: Explore the Jungle Week of April 18th - Week 3: Castle Voyage Week of April 25th - Week 4: My Crazy School Day Week of May 2nd - Week 5: Underwater Fun Week of May 9th- Week 6: Ice Cream Galore Week of May 16th - Week 7: Dance Party Week of May 23rd- Week 8: Trip to the Park
Learning Goals
Each week we will have a new theme to use in order to create a fun and crazy story while also reviewing our handwriting rules each week.
No need to catch up as we always start off each class with the same exercises, review, and then story creation!

Hi Everyone!
I currently practice Occupational Therapy as my career and work in pediatrics. I love working with kids so much as it challenges me to be creative and adapt to each childs' learning style as we all know that every child is different.
I believe so much can be learned through play and fun activities, which is why in my profession it looks like I am just playing all day but really SO many skills are being taught.
