In this class students will learn ways to remember vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) and will then create and learn words using each vowel sound. They will learn the "bossy e" rule and will play a game to determine what words have a "bossy e" and what words have short and long vowel sounds. Students will have opportunities to share knowledge and examples in class. (Participation and sharing is encouraged but not required). This class will help build and solidify vowel knowledge and will be able to help reinforce reading structure. Class format: *Introduction: what vowels do you know? *Fun ways to remember vowel sounds a, e, i, o, u, and y *Create and identify words using different vowel sounds *Bossy "e" rule (students will learn what sounds vowels have when an e is at the end of a word) *Vowel word game! *Vowel sounds review *Thank you and Goodbyes! There is a two page worksheet that accompanies this class that can be printed to use in the lesson. If students are unable to print the worksheet, they can use a piece of paper and a pencil.

Welcome! My name is Nicole Allen. I am a very outgoing, upbeat, and exciting teacher. I love to have fun and work hard to encourage and help each and every child I teach.
I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and am licensed to teach students ages K-6. I have taught kindergarten for three years and have been teaching English to students online as an ESL teacher for 2 years.
I have five beautiful children of my own ages 4, 8, 10, 11, and 13 and love adding extra homeschool content to help my own kiddos learn more each day.
I am very creative and love animals! I love to paint, draw, sew, and bake and enjoy playing board games with my family. I am an Animal Crossing fanatic. I have five pets: three cats (Zelda, Blossom, and Julius), one dog (Obi Wan), and a rabbit (Snuggles). I am a huge fan of Starwars and love to watch comedy shows.
I am excited to teach classes using drawing, art concepts, English, and math, and hope to bring several pre-school related curriculum topics to my online classroom as well. I look forward to incorporating fun themes such as Star Wars, Animal Crossing, and Zelda in future classes and would like to offer great themed classes for my future students.
