Description

Class Experience

Learn the basics of voice over acting in this class. Each meeting, we will discuss the techniques of effective voice over acting, practice reading voice over scripts, and receiving feedback. If students have a particular piece of writing they would like to practice reading, they may bring it to class, but the teacher will provide real scripts for learners to read. Genres of voice over we will learn are audio books, radio jingles, animated films, video games, commercials, and movie scripts....

Learning Goals: 
-knowledge in different voice over scripts (tv/movie vs radio commercial ads) 
-proper technique to prepare a script for an audition
-audition procedures and etiquette 
-conversing with casting directors
-taking feedback from auditions and project gigs 
-assembling an online portfolio for booking voice over jobs

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
