Beginner Level
In this voice acting (voice-over) course students will explore how an actor uses their voice to create narration and characters for video games. Week 1: Students will do vocal warm-ups, learn basic voice acting techniques and demonstrate those techniques through various exercises and scripts. Week 2: Students will do vocal warm-ups, review basic voice acting techniques, learn characterization techniques and demonstrate those techniques through various exercises and scripts. Week 3: Students will do vocal warm-ups, review both basic and characterization techniques and demonstrate those techniques through various exercises and scripts. Week 4: Students will do vocal warm-ups and then take everything that they've learned to create their own narration and characters for a video game script. Note: Students are expected to participate in all warm-ups, exercises, and performances. Parents will receive feedback about their teen's overall performance after the last class.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education at the University of Utah. I have over 25 years of teaching experience in both traditional and nontraditional school settings. And, I currently hold a teaching license in secondary education in Theatre.
I am a lifelong learner and continue to look for ways to improve my teaching. My goal is to foster a friendly and safe environment for students to explore acting.
When I'm not teaching I love to sing karaoke, kickbox, spend time with my family, and snuggle with my kitties, Ozzie and MoMo.
