Intermediate Level
In this second course of voice acting for anime characters, students will build upon techniques that are used to create these dynamic characters. *Students must complete Voice Acting: Anime Characters (Course 1) before enrolling in this class. Week 1 - Vocal warm-up. Review previous voice acting (voice-over) techniques. Discuss and exercise the focused techniques for the lesson. Students will demonstrate their understanding of those techniques through their performance of an anime script. Student and teacher evaluations. Week 2 - Vocal warm-up. Discuss and exercise the focused techniques for the lesson. Students will demonstrate their understanding of those techniques through their performance of an anime script. Student and teacher evaluations. Week 3 - Vocal warm-up. Discuss and exercise the focused techniques for the lesson. Students will demonstrate their understanding of those techniques through their performance of an anime script. Student and teacher evaluations. Week 4 - Vocal warm-up. Students will demonstrate everything that they've learned since Week 1 by creating their own character voice/s through the final script. Student and teacher evaluations. Note: Students are expected to participate in all warm-ups, exercises, and performances. Parents will receive feedback about their teen's overall performance after the last class.
Learning Goals
1. Students will review and learn characterization techniques for anime voice acting through various exercises.
2. Students will develop their own anime character voices through imitation, tone, and exploration.
3. Students will perform their anime character voices using various sections of anime scripts.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education at the University of Utah. I have over 25 years of teaching experience in both traditional and nontraditional school settings. And, I currently hold a teaching license in secondary education in Theatre.
I am a lifelong learner and continue to look for ways to improve my teaching. My goal is to foster a friendly and safe environment for students to explore acting.
When I'm not teaching I love to sing karaoke, kickbox, spend time with my family, and snuggle with my kitties, Ozzie and MoMo.
