Do you like Sonic the Hedgehog? Do you want to learn new words? Well this is the class for you! In this ongoing class students will learn new vocabulary words based on Sonic the Hedgehog themed images and characters. The students will learn the words, definitions, and also have an opportunity to form their own sentences. If the students learn the words correctly they will collect virtual chaos emeralds along the way until they reach Super Sonic. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn new words while also fun. I look forward to seeing you all in my classroom! Hello! My name is Luis Ruiz. I’ve had over 10 years teaching experience. I have worked in a 5th grade classroom for over 3 years and I’ve been teaching online for over 3 years. Additionally I’ve been tutoring children for over 10 years. I’ve taught students English, Reading, Spanish, and Life Skills. I strive to incorporate the students needs into my lessons and make the environment fun yet educational. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with ESOL endorsement.
When teaching children I enjoy incorporating things children's enjoy in order to make learning more enjoyable for them. I also strive to make each student feel welcome and happy in class.
I enjoy fitness as well and offer themed classes that allow students to exercise with their favorite cartoon characters. I have a variety of discussion classes as well in which students can talk about their favorite video games or cartoons while learning social skills in the process. I currently offer vocabulary, spelling, fitness, discussion, Spanish, and alphabet classes to a variety of learners. I make sure to encourage my learners through positive reinforcement and a happy environment.
