Class Experience
In this class, we will work with Lee Mountain's Vocabulary from Classical Roots, completing all 17 lessons together. I started using this workbook recently, and I have found it to be an outstanding tool for expanding understanding of the English language. Each chapter introduces a new set of Greek and Latin roots and prefixes, and provides a list of both "familiar" and "challenge" words that show the roots in action. For example, the first lesson's theme is "Balance," and features the roots...
Students will: Expand understanding of the way English is formed Learn several Latin and Greek roots and prefixes and the way they work in words Be challenged to use new words in context
No homework; all work will be completed in class.
Each student will need a new copy of Vocabulary from Classical Roots by Lee Mountain level 5. For all students in the class, I will provide a link to purchase the correct edition.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
