Beginner Level
These weekly classes will help to build learner's base vocabulary. Class Breakdown: 25 minutes of word defining and sentence writing 20 minutes of paragraph writing Each word will be defined and its part of speech identified. The teacher will write a sentence as an example of how to use the word. Students will then be given time to write their own sentences using the targeted word. After the first 25 minutes, the class will shift to writing a paragraph tying to use as many words as possible that were reviewed in the class. The teacher will offer support and guidance throughout the class. A Google Doc template will be offered during class, or students may use a dedicated notebook. The teacher will screen share their Google Doc for learners to follow along with. Each class will cover as many words as the class is able to, so there are no set themes or lists. As an ongoing course that does not build on previous or following classes, learners are able to enroll and withdraw (or pause) as needed. Paragraph writing will be confined to one class. Any paragraph writing not completed in class can be done for homework and shared with the teacher for feedback. Sample of words: arrange cabbage fellow magazine policy seldom typhoon
