The title of this class is Vocabulary Builders #2! It is ongoing practice provided for students in third through fifth grade who would benefit from practicing sight and high frequency words to achieve familiarity with the words that will lead to automaticity of pronunciation and understanding of word meanings. The general learning goals are outlined above in the description section regarding "Focus". - As students accomplish learning their sight and high frequency words, any student desiring to do so, will be able to celebrate that accomplishment by sharing their ability through having an individual "Read-Off" - a timed reading of the words they have learned to show their mastery. My past assignment was as an ELD (English Language Development) grade level responsible teacher for 3rd and 4th grade students for six (6) years. Additionally, I was an AEMP (American English Mastery Program) teacher for eight (8) years. The requirements met were to teach students culturally relevant information while helping them acquire academic English with confidence in both reading and writing.
