Looking for a learner-directed full English curriculum supplement for your middle school language arts student? Join veteran teacher Jordan Kohanim in this Outschool class! Designed as a supplement to the popular Visual Literature Class, this course provides the opportunity for students to set goals and plan writing assignments with Ms. Jordan via secure video messaging. Teacher Jordan is a nationally recognized English and Language Arts educator with over 15 years of experience teaching in public schools in the Atlanta area. She is certified in the state of Georgia. She has twice been recognized as Teacher of the Year, and is a beloved debate and public speaking coach as well.
Weekly writing assignments are given every Friday with video feedback the following Friday
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
All families will receive written and video feedback from Ms. Jordan every week, and individual families can work out the assessment method (grade, feedback form, etc) that works for their educational philosophy
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Writing assignments are based on texts available in the public domain, including classic stories by writers such as Edgar Allen Poe which can be a little scary for young learners. Families are welcome to request an alternative assignment for these texts.
