Welcome to VISION BOARD SELF-PORTRAIT ART CLASS. In this SELF-PACED class we’re going to create a mixed media collage with drawing, painting, writing, and gluing words and images. The purpose of a Vision Board is to plan out and visualize very specifically what we want to happen in the coming year or months. In this Vision Board there’s a twist! We’ll be including a simple self-portrait to really personalize our vision for the new year.

Other Details

Learning Needs
I gladly work with students with learning differences. Please reach out to me so we can discuss your child's needs so I can accommodate them.
Parental Guidance
Students will need to use scissors to create the collage. One of the categories in the guide includes spirituality but this is entirely up to the student’s interpretation and I will not discuss religion or spirituality. The guide is only meant to inspire students but they can certainly change it up however they’d like. Students may also have to search for images online or in magazines to include in their Vision Board.
Pre-Requisites
For middle school and high school students who like to draw, paint, and collage with intermediate to advanced visual art skills.

I am a professional visual artist (a painter) and art educator. I am certified to teach Art to Secondary Students in Texas, and I have taught AP 2D Art & Design and AP Art History to High School students. I have about 10 years experience teaching Art to secondary students.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Painting, a Minor in Art History (I love Art History!) and a Master’s Degree in Art Education.

I love to explore in nature and nature is the inspiration for all of my art! I also love to travel because I love to learn.

My sons have learning differences and music is their artform of choice. I cheer students who have learning differences because I know that means they are usually exceptionally creative!

I never excelled in traditional school until college, when I really started studying Art in depth. I hope to provide that kind of experience for students where I guide them, but they are truly led by their own imaginations!
