We're going to talk about what is virus and since a virus is something that takes over the cell to reproduce, we're going to start by talking how the cell works. I've included lots of pictures and diagrams to make it as simple as possible. After we've figured out briefly how a cell works, we'll talk about different kinds of viruses. Finally we'll finish the back half of the class talking about the coronovirus specifically, where it came from, why people are treating it differently than other diseases and what's being done about it. How does a cell work? What is a virus? How is a DNA virus different from an RNA virus Replication structure/function Life cycle What is a coronavirus? What are corona viruses Where did this the new corona virus come from What makes it different than other viruses Questions
Learning Goals

How a virus enters the cell, takes over the cellular machinery, and replicates
What are some features of the coronavirus
What is social distancing and why does it work?
