What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will engage with the teacher and other students through play, stories, drawing, dance, show and tell, and other fun activities. The focus of this group is to practice age appropriate social skills and provide an opportunity to socialize/play with other students of the same age group. Additionally, the class will incorporate basic age appropriate educational activities (abc's, 123's, colors, shapes, etc) through games and stories, but the emphasis will be on play and interacting with other students. For parents, I hope to provide an alternative play option for your children when other social activities are not possible. This class is a one-time only class, but I offer ongoing classes if you are interested. Please feel free to request times and I will see if I am available to make a group on the time/day requested. Teacher Guided Themes/Topics: (Topics may change based on learner interest and requests) Favorite Games Favorite Toys Favorite Books/Stories Superheroes /Favorite characters Puzzles Food - Favorite Snacks Cold Weather Animals Space (If your student is interested in a certain topic, please feel free to send me a message and I would love to create a class session with that topic). The teacher will occasionally use excerpts of story books and quick transition video clips (with author's/performer's/creator's permissions) to introduce an activity or allow the students to move/play a game. These will only be used as supporting materials to provide opportunities for social engagement/movement and will not be used for long periods of the class.
Learning Goals
Students will practice age appropriate social skills; such as taking turns, listening, asking questions, following directions and being good friends. They will practice these skills in a fun playgroup through teacher guidance. The students will have an opportunity to practice basic learning skills (letters, numbers, etc) also, but this will not the main focus of the group.
