Looking for a unique way to stay physically active? Are you searching for meaningful opportunities to increase you and your families' physical literacy skills? This flex class is designed to help kids stay active while interacting with a positive and supportive PE teacher while maintaining their physical literacy!

For this class:
- We will be participating in, high quality PE activities that will keep students moving and active.
- We will play, practice and reflect on meaningful activities and PE related lessons that students can play at home on their own time while teaching their family members.
- Games include "Minute to Win it" style challenges, bowling/curling with common household items, PE board games, a mini family Field Day project, and much more.
- Integrating technology and the specialized interests and backgrounds of students in making meaningful physically literate learning opportunities
- This is ideal for students who: love to be physically active, would like to participate at their own pace, and have spare time!

Why will we be doing this?
- Students need to be physically active EVERY DAY for at least 60 minutes!
- During these tricky times it can be a challenge to get in that moderate to vigorous physical activity
- Being active and moving can be really fun, sometimes it helps us feel better, even helping us sleep better at night
- Students will be able to engage in fun and meaningful activities that can be used many times after the class

How will we know we were successful in this class?
- We are able to participate successfully and safely in a wide variety of physical activities that get our hearts pumping and our bodies moving.
- We are able to describe at least one exercise or activity we learned in class as a way to keep us healthy while at home.
- We are able to practice and try out new games for our families to play- while checking in and reflecting on our experiences with an ON CALL PE teacher!
- We can reflect on why it's important to be physically active and how it helps us mentally, physically and emotionally.

Week 1:
- Discovering our interests and exploring ways to integrate them within meaningful physical activity. Students will be asked to share their passions via Flipgrid/Google Slides/Google Forms (multiple teacher created platforms available depending on student needs).
- Participating and practicing basic physical education and health education skills and highlighting favorites (locomotor skills, manipulative skills, target based skills, etc)
- Minute to win it activities with simple equipment to spark the creative process. Testing out different STEAM related activities with toilet paper rolls, laundry baskets and pillows.

Week 2:
- Participating in meaningful physical activity opportunities with and without a screen.
- Sharing thoughts and feelings through Flipgrid/Google Forms about what makes physical activity enjoyable. In depth discussion and meaningful opportunities to share our own "physical activity" stories.

Week 3:
- Students will receive a custom made physical activity "Bingo sheet" where they will be prompted to find and engage in a wide variety of activities that don't involve a computer.
- Video lead activities for students to try as opportunities including sport specific skills, dance, and activities that involve cooperating with others (like family members or siblings)!
- Open office hour discussion and engagement sessions while practicing previously learned activities

Week 4:
- Sports Day or Field Day at home! Students will receive a customized blueprint either via Google Slides or Flipgrid with 3 or more activities for students to complete with their family or community. Activities may be scaffolded from activities from the week 2 and 3 assignments

All of these activities are completed on your own time during each week! Suggested materials and all assignments for the week will be posted on Sunday evenings (US Pacific time zone). Once assignments are listed, students have the remainder of the week to complete as many of the activities listed based on their own schedule. Students are asked to submit their assignments in the classroom before Friday evening of that week.

Students will have access to the page for this class and teacher support will be available every day (times may vary).

No live meetings for this class are scheduled, but "office hours" will be made available should students have questions or wish to show off their creations. A longer "office hours" session will be available on the third week of the course
