Class Experience

Students will become more familiar and comfortable with acrylic painting techniques. We will discuss how to create a complete painting from beginning to end. Beginning with a sketch and layering colors and texture into the background and ending with a completed foreground.
I have both a bachelors and masters degree in art education as well as my teaching certification. I have been teaching art for over 13 years! In addition to teaching, I am also a practicing artist. My mediums include: painting, drawing, wood burned and copper enamel jewelry, sculpting and printmaking.
If artists are unable to complete their painting within the 60 minute timeframe, they may need to finish outside of class on their own time.
Canvas (8x10 or smaller) A variety of acrylic paint colors (to be specified once theme is chosen) 2-3 paint brushes (one larger and one smaller) Pencil Eraser Water for rinsing brushes and paper towel for cleaning spills and blotting brushes Some kind of pallet to put the paint on (paper plates work great!)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Formative feedback will be given to each artist throughout the class.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
