1 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this unique history class, using 360 degree views of exterior and interior shots of Washington, DC's most famous landmarks, students will take an engaging virtual field trip around town while learning about the secrets that make DC such a special city. Class will begin with introductions so everyone gets to know their fellow traveler a bit. I'll provide a geographical overview of the area we'll cover on our tour and a brief history of Washington, DC. We'll virtually arrive into DC and then be on our way. At each stop on the tour, a student will have the ability to take over the mouse and navigate the photo for the class, while I describe the significance of each location. There will be opportunities for questions and dialogue along the way. At the conclusion of class, students will receive a link to all the stops and tips discussed. **Please note, students who have previously joined from an iPad or Chromebook have had trouble using the remote control feature and are unable to navigate the photo for the class. For optimal experience, please have your learner join from another device if possible. Thank you.** My hope is that students will be inspired to make their own in person trip to the Nation's Capital, be empowered with a basic understanding of the city and equipped with practical tips for a successful trip. If this timing does not work for your learner, I'm happy to consider schedule requests.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My love affair with Washington, DC, started in the 8th grade when my civics class took a trip there. What could be better than hanging for a day out in the Nation's Capital with your friends?!
It definitely continued when I went to Howard University and as a History major poured over primary sources in the Library of Congress or visited galleries around town. I've also been lucky enough to lead groups of students on week long stays over the past 5 years.
So come join me in checking out all of the things that they found to be interesting, without all the walking!
