This one-time class is offering a virtual field trip to the Hall of North American Mammals for students in grades 3-5. Students will explore the North American Beaver habitat diorama and learn how this animal adapts to an environment.

Description

Class Experience

1) What will be taught? How the North American Beaver adapts and survives in its environment.

2) What topics will you cover? A Science lesson

3) How is your class structured? We will first do a meet and greet, talk about virtual class expectations, go over what students can expect to learn and do during our time together, what the goal of the lesson is, what skills they will be able to do by the end of the lesson (I can statement) and I will front-load them with specific vocabulary terms...

Students will use Google Arts and Culture to take a virtual tour to learn about the North American Beaver. Students will closely observe the diorama and as a group students will describe the animal and its adaptation to its environment.

Informal assessment-Student will state one thing they learned about the North American Beaver.

30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.

We will be using a site called artsandculture.google.com to go on our virtual tour through the American Museum of Natural History. 
*** Please note I have personal access to the websites that I will be using for this lesson.  There is no extra cost to go on this virtual 
      field trip with me.
