Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Join us on a tour of a virtual dinosaur park (inspired by the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movie series) in this one-time, 50 minute course! In this multimedia presentation, we'll explore:

-Predator Paddocks: see the vicious Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor, and other hunting, meat-eating dinosaurs and discover what adaptations helped them become the most feared predators of the Jurassic period and beyond

-Gentle Giants Petting Zoo: get up close and personal with plant-eating dinosaurs like the Triceratops and the Brachiosaurus

-The Marina: grab a rain poncho from the gift shop as we get splashed by giant swimming reptiles (like Mosasaurs)

-The Aviary: watch prehistoric flying reptiles like the Pterodactyl soar through the air and discover their connection to modern birds

we'll also learn

-What is a dinosaur? What features do they share and a brief history of their discovery.

-What happened to the dinosaurs? Including how they went extinct and which animals still around today are most closely related to them.

Students are encouraged to engage and ask questions, but are welcome to passively absorb if they prefer.

Optional Homework: Write a ~1 paragraph reflection for knowledge retention.

I also offer this class is part of a multi-week Virtual Natural History Museum course: https://outschool.com/classes/virtual-natural-history-museum-dinosaurs-the-ice-age-oceans-and-rainforests-UWh8H1Gu

and a Self-Paced Class: https://outschool.com/classes/prehistoric-beasts-dinosaurs-to-the-ice-age-flex-class-1Qq0WCd2

if you prefer one of those methods of instruction.

Finally, I recommend checking out my Teacher Profile, especially my Teaching Philosophy section, to make sure this is a fit for your student.

See you in class!
