Summer Camp - Tie Dying, Hiking, Fire Building, and Fun!
Class experience
Welcome to Camp Canteen! This will be a fantastic distance camp experience for your child! Your child will make friendship bracelets, tie dye a shirt, and even sing around a campfire! **To get the most out of summer camp at home, you will need to be sure the purchase the items on the supply list.** Day 1 On our first day, we will introduce ourselves and I will teach students how to use the Zoom classroom. Campers will learn to make an Origami cup and an Origami fortune teller. We will end...
Here is your Camp Canteen packing list! Day 1 *5 or more sheets of printer paper *scissors Day 2 *2 or more colors of embroidery floss *scissors *tape (to hold the embroidery floss while the camper makes their bracelet, packing tape is preferred) *a fruit or vegetable that is at least the size of a fist (bananas work very well) *a variety of items that your child can use to "dress" their produce. For example, googly eyes, fabric, colored sharpie markers, yarn, etc Day 3 *large pretzel rods (about 3) *small pretzel sticks (about 5) *1 package of M&Ms or similar shaped and colored candy *1 large marshmallow *1 full graham cracker *1/4 of a chocolate bar Day 4 *plain white or light colored T-shirt *rubber bands *tie dye kit - I recommend this one from Amazon. It comes with rubber bands and gloves and it is uses bottles of dye that are easy to handle: https://amzn.to/2UWp12i Thank you to a parent who suggested this all in one kit from Micheal's: https://www.michaels.com/fashion-angels-neon-tie-dye-fashion-design-super-set/10648162.html *pencil or pen Day 5 *any items that they need to show off their talent in the talent show
On Day 3, students that would like to heat their S'more, should have a parent to help them. On Day 4, parents should be available to help students to tie dye their shirts. This day can be messy. Some families choose to use an ipad for this class and let their child work outside.
