Class Experience
Dr. Lopez has a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Has taught courses in Life Science and viruses. Additionally, she is interested in this topic and has knowledge on different viruses.
There is NO mandatory homework. Students are encourage to come to class prepare to discuss the selected virus of the week. Students can prepare by researching the virus before class. The class discussion will be guided by students in the class and the research that they have done and will do during class.
Need access to a Gmail account to be able to open and share information on a Google doc. If the student want to put together a book focusing on viruses that infect plant and animals around the world, they will need the following things to take notes: electronic notes: access to Microsoft word or other program similar to that. handwritten notes: notebook or loose paper and 3-ring binder something to write with: pencil or pen
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
