Violin Tutoring: Suzuki Book 2

In these one-on-one classes, your learner will be guided through the repertoire of Suzuki Book 2. These pieces are curated to cover a wide variety of violin techniques, to ensure the continues development of a solid technique and musicality.

While exploring these pieces, we will review proper violin set up and care, posture and instrument hold, bowing, fingering, tone production, dynamics, and more.  We will work on producing a clear, melodious tone and practice accurate finger placement for good tuning. A variety of bowstrokes will be taught, as well as the use of varying dynamics and phrasing for effective musical storytelling. In these classes, your learner will encounter beautiful pieces including works by Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms.

I will demonstrate all the skills taught on my own violin and the student will be able to demonstrate what they are learning on their violin, as well as ask questions. Thus, the one-on-one classes will require the student’s camera and microphone to be on. 

Lessons are most productive when supplemented by students listening to Suzuki Book 2 recordings in their own time.
