I am so glad that you have chosen to learn to play this beautiful instrument this summer. In this violin summer camp, the students will learn: -The fundamentals of violin playing: how to hold and take care of the instrument and bow. -How to tune the violin. -How to perform pizzicato. -The notes on the D and A string. -How to hold the bow and make the first sounds with it. -Songs such as "Jingle Bells", "Old Macdonald", "Ode to Joy" Experience: NO experience necessary. Class time is structured as follows: tuning check (students should tune before class starts), short review, new topic/ technique of the day, mastering of pieces, spotlight time, homework assignment.
