Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi everyone! My name is Alani, and I'm excited to be teaching here on Outschool!

I teach lots of different music classes, including violin, mandolin, fiddle, and music theory! I love teaching students of all levels, from total beginner to advanced, and all ages. I am also an ESL/EFL (English as a second/foreign language) teacher. I love teaching people of all ages, but I have a special place in my heart for teaching kids!

I am passionate about teaching music and English online in one-on-one and small group contexts, and have done so on a private basis as well as worked with other online learning platforms.

I believe that everyone's connection to music is different, which means their goals and values will be different too! Everyone should be able to learn and achieve their goals along with a supportive and positive teacher, like me! This applies to learning any subject, but can be especially important when it comes to music or language, which are both challenging subjects. My students have told me that I am a good communicator, and that I am very patient and meet students where they are.

Aside from being a lover of music, I also am a fanatic of languages! Currently I study Spanish and Japanese, and I also studied Hebrew for a few months. I love the feeling of learning new things!
