Class Experience
The Holidays are better with music! In this 6-week flexible schedule class, students will learn how to play 5 of the most popular and beloved Holiday/Christmas songs: "Jingle Bells," "Silent Night," "We Wish You A Merry Christmas," "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer," and "Jingle Bell Rock."
Students of all levels are welcome to join the class, but they must have taken a beginning violin course. If your child is new to the violin, I recommend taking one of my live violin classes...Students will learn to play 5 of the most popular Holiday songs: "Jingle Bells," "Silent Night," "We Wish You A Merry Christmas," "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer," and "Jingle Bell Rock." They will also be introduced to more advanced techniques on the violin such as martele, vibrato, tremolo, and portamento.
I am a professional musician and a State-Certified K-12 Music teacher based in Miami, Florida. I hold a Master’s Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's in Violin Performance from Florida International University.
I have worked with pre-school and school-aged children for over five years, and have taught group music lessons as well as private music lessons to hundreds of students. I am passionate about passing on the love and knowledge I have for music to all of my students.Practicing is highly advised.
Sheet music and professionally recorded, high-quality background tracks produced just for this class will be provided by the teacher for each student.
Students will submit a video playing the song of the week, as well as collaborative projects. Theory assignments will also be provided to enhance the learning of musical concepts.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will be using MuseScore, which is a music notation software available for download from https://www.musescore.com.
