Class experience
Viola lessons are nuanced, and depend entirely on the abilities and needs of each student. But for every student, I will work to develop their technique and musicality. To this end, we will study intonation, shifting, vibrato, left-hand action, double stops/chords, bow strokes/distribution/speed/contact point, right hand technique, proper playing posture, musical interpretation, performance anxiety management, and professional etiquette. I have played in professional orchestras and chamber ensembles for over four years, and I have completed graduate-level coursework on viola pedagogy. I hold a bachelor’s in viola performance from the Florida State University College of Music, and I’m enrolled on full scholarship in the Boston University College of Fine Arts.
