Through a combination of lecture and discussion, we will look at some of Vincent van Gogh's most famous works of art unraveling his post-impressionist style and inspiration for creating. We will look at the different themes that highlighted his career such as portraits, cypress and olive trees, flowers, and of course the French country-side. We will talk about his family and how his sister-in-law is key to why we know who he is today. In this short class, we will look closer at works by Vincent and consider some of the things that inspired his use of color and application of paint.
