Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to identify and analyze the Disney stories and connect them to the world and their own experiences.
I am a huge fan of Disney and love sharing my love of Disney stories with students. Often I root for the villain since they are a dynamic character. It makes it fun. I use a hands on approach to connect learning to student’s personal experiences and prior knowledge as I believe we learn best by doing a project or experiment. I am a licensed English teacher for 7-12 grade in the state of Pennsylvania and Maryland with 11 years teaching in public and private schools. I have experience with students with diverse learning needs online and in the brick and mortar schools.
Each week, students will receive a related extension and comprehension activity related to the story of the week!
The teacher will provide weekly notes via PowerPoint.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learner progress is assessed through participation in class and completion of assignments.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class is suitable for all ages listed!
Some of the original stories are a bit dark, and may be scary for younger students, parental guidance is suggested if there is a concern for the scary content. We can certainly adapt to a less scary version.
