Class Experience

Students will gain a great deal of information about the different creatures featured in the Viking mythos. Students will practice debate skills, using evidence and argumentation.
I am certified to teach English and Language Arts from 6th to 12 grade. I have a bachelors in English Education from Kennesaw State University, and I am in a master's program for English Education at the same university. Additionally, I am gifted certified and hold a micro-endorsement in dramatic writing. I am certified to teach this course and have taught this unit of study as part of a larger high school year long Mythology course at a public high school for two years. I have taught this portion of the course to students in this age range (freshmen to seniors).
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Vikings were violent and their myths and stories sometimes feature violence and drinking. We will be exploring topics like weaponry and war, monsters, and combat, though these are not the focus of this class. The focus of this class is the mythical beasts and how to kill them.
