CLASS EXPERIENCE: MINECRAFT BEDROCK EDITION. This edition can be played on PC, Mac, Android, and iOS. We will NOT be using Minecraft Java Edition. AGE RANGE: This class is designed for all ages and skill levels. Basic knowledge of English and Computers will be highly beneficial. Prior experience with Minecraft is not required. CLASS OVERVIEW: In this class we will be learning about the life of The Vikings. We will bring this history to life by using the video game of Minecraft. Most people have heard of the Vikings but our view of them is often only one sided. History usually teaches that the Vikings were violent and barbaric people. This is not completely true though as they had a rich culture and explored a lot of the world. In this lesson we will examine the life of the Vikings from multiple viewpoints and see what life was like for them. We will take a tour of a Viking city through the game of Minecraft. We will get to see how they were able to take control of the seas and spread their culture throughout the world. We will see the Vikings like never before! The Vikings should not just be kept in the history books.
Learning Goals
In this lesson we will start our tour in a Viking city. We will learn that they were not all warriors and berserkers. The life and culture of the Vikings is rich and fascinating. We will see how they changed the world around them and even how they changed the English language that many of us use today. The Vikings deserve to be looked at in a different way. History will be brought to life!

Parental Guidance
Some of the topics being discussed will involve sensitive topics, such as religion and war. This course will provide multiple viewpoints and come from a neutral standpoint. History is not always positive and this course will reflect this. The class is designed for children and is suitable for all ages.
Supply List
A Minecraft account (also known as Minecraft Bedrock Edition) must be purchased by the learner. Learners will receive access to the Minecraft server address to connect to. Minecraft Java Edition will NOT work. A pair of headphones and microphone are also needed.
