Learn video editing using iMovie (desktop/laptop version) in this 4 session course. Make personal movies, or work on videos for YouTube. Students will upload video, add transitions, audio tracks and titles, then share their videos. Note there is another "Basics" class for iPad users.

Description

Class Experience

At the end of five sessions, students will  produce a short finished film in which they have edited video footage, used backgrounds and titles effectively, added appropriate audio tracks, and demonstrated thoughtful use of transitions.
I have been teaching iMovie for over ten years, and my middle school students frequently win local and state-wide film competitions, largely attributed to their skillful use of many of iMovie's tools that take their student films to much more mature, advanced levels that rival their peers.

iMovie (laptop/desktop version)
Phone with camera or videocamera (if none available to student, instructor will provide video footage)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:

50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
